Local Government
Local government is vitally important for local communities. The Heritage Party will seek to ensure our countryside, towns and cities are not ruined by rampant development, with public money spent wisely on vital public services and maintenance rather than costly white elephant projects. We wish to preserve our heritage sites, historic buildings and monuments and to protect our traditional way of life.
Local Elections in Wales 2027
There will be over 1,200 council seats in the 22 principal local councils up for election in May 2027.
There will also be over 8,000 town and community council seats up for election in Wales on the same date in more than 730 town and community councils.
Local by-elections
By-elections for local councils occur when a councillor leaves office before the scheduled end of his/her term. There are regular by-elections in Wales and they are free to enter.
